Saturday at
the shooting range 12/18/2010
Note: The first
weekend I shot it with the folding stock set up (it was the way
I bought it from the seller). Whomever welded the scope mount
on the dust cover, eventually found out as I did that the scope
and mount is useless and will not hold zero installed on the dust
cover. It's way too volatile in the recoil for a scope to
hold zero there. So I ordered another dust cover to get rid
of that welded on mount and will only use the iron sights. Besides,
SKS rifles aren't known to be used as a sniper rifle, it would help
if it was front heavy, but it's not and shooting 7.62 39mm causes
the front to wanna bounce up, after each shot.

And it shoots like a dream.
After
I had installed the new set-up on Thursday, I went to Evans Shooting
Range in Huntington on Saturday to test it out at 100 yards (and
to meet up with my friend, Delbert). At first, I only loaded
5 rds in the mag to test fire making sure it was operating safely.
Then loaded the next 10 rds using a 10 rd stripper clip, and
fired away, and to my surprise when I looked thru my spotter scope...
WALLA!
100 yards using only the iron sights
